Watertown to hold a back to school Carnival?


Is there really gonna be a carnival?


While rumors have been going around for weeks, the mayor has finally confirmed whether there would be a carnival. According to Emily Mcfarland, the mayor of Watertown: Yes, there will be a Carnival this fall despite concerns of Covid-19. While many people are angry that there is being a carnival during the Covid-19 pandemic, the mayor ignores these complaints. Some are calling the mayor ignorant for this. Experts are saying that cases could skyrocket after this.


How are people Reacting?


Many people are having negative reactions to the news. Protests have broken out on church street. A group of counter-protesters arrived and a verbal conflict broke out. Eventually, a counter-protester Assaulted a protester although he was only mildy injured. Luckily, police arrived to stop the conflict before anything worse occured. Many people are scared that more conflicts could erupt at the carnival itself.
